Meet the Founder
Shantee' N. Owens
I am a proud native of Maryland; born and raised, and currently residing in Virginia. I am a sister, aunt, niece, godmother, and woman of God who has a genuine heart for people and teaching. As a result, I became a Registered Nurse (RN) and then an educator. If I am not working as a nursing educator; you will find me attending church, spending quality time with friends and family, traveling, attending worship concerts, conferences, and enjoying new adventures and activities.
I look forward to greeting you with an open heart as we walk on this journey toward freedom together.
The Beginning
I was on my own journey of healing and freedom; seeking answers from things I heard as a child, responses from others and to others, my thought process, my emotional well-being, etc. Through seeking those answers, I began to experience a sense of release that I could not describe. In reflection, I knew it was freedom. When I started to see growth and learned more about myself, I knew that this was a moment to share with others. If I can self-reflect, you can too. So in 2022, I became a self-published author of No Longer Bound: A 7-wk Journey Walking into Freedom. I placed what learned in this book so that others can share in the experience and be empowered to be free. Free You Purpose Ministry is birthed from this place. The key to unlocking freedom lies right here with you.

Desiring community? This empowerment group is for women all ages. A safe, no judgement free zone for openness and real talk. Throughout the year, there will be facilitated discussions to address the walls hindering growth and fellowship to celebrate the victories of overcoming. A Journey Worth Taking
Wow! This was what I needed! This book takes the reader on a journey to help you to unpack and evaluate the things in your life that weigh you down or give your life meaning. I appreciate the questions at the end of each week that prompt self reflection and also challenges our beliefs and self-talk. Week 4 touches on identity and the sources we use to form our image and opinion of ourselves. This was a very impactful week in my journey as I often try to remind myself of who God says I am and rid myself of feelings related to imposter syndrome. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the journey that it took me on. If you are looking for an easy read impactful self-help book, this is the book for you! You will not be disappointed and you will finish your journey in freedom.
